D365 CE Functional Consultant (Oil & Gas Project)

Location: Remote (within European time zones preferred)

Project Overview:
A leading Microsoft Partner is delivering a global, multi-phase Dynamics 365 Customer Engagement (CE) implementation for a major client in the oil and gas sector. The transformation will span more than 20 countries and multiple legal entities, aiming to standardise and modernise customer and field service operations.

The project is expected to run for 4+ years, and we are seeking a seasoned D365 CE Functional Consultant with deep experience in the Field Service module to join the delivery team on a remote B2B contract basis.

Role Responsibilities:
  • Lead the functional delivery of Dynamics 365 Field Service, from design through to go-live
  • Conduct workshops with business users across operations, maintenance, and dispatch functions to gather requirements and design end-to-end service processes
  • Configure the Field Service module including work orders, bookings, crews, resources, scheduling, assets, service tasks, and SLAs
  • Support data migration and design of mobile solutions for field technicians
  • Create documentation, training materials, and support testing, UAT, and deployment activities
  • Work in close alignment with offshore and onshore delivery teams across multiple time zones

Tech Stack:
  • Microsoft Dynamics 365 CE – Field Service
  • Power Platform (Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI)
  • Microsoft Azure (IoT integrations, service bus, logic apps)
  • D365 Finance & Operations (ERP integration)



Candidate Requirements:
  • 4+ years’ experience delivering Dynamics 365 CE implementations, with at least 2+ full-cycle projects
  • In-depth knowledge of Field Service processes including work order management,                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                  scheduling, resource tracking, asset management, and mobile solutions
  • Experience working on global or multi-entity rollouts
  • Previous project experience in oil & gas, utilities, or field operations-intensive industries is highly desirable
  • Strong stakeholder management and documentation skills
  • Fluent in English; excellent communication across diverse, distributed teams
  • Able to work remotely within European time zones

Contract Details:
  • Start Date: ASAP
  • Duration: Initial 6–12 months (with rolling extensions – project expected to run for 4+ years)
  • Engagement: B2B Contract
  • Location: 100% Remote (European-based consultants preferred)
