Create and maintain central repository of conceptual, logical and physical data models for all data repositories in the agency including transactional systems, data warehouse and document orientated systems
Design and maintain interfaces, source-target mappings and API specifications so that there is visibility of end to end data flows
Ad hoc analysis and forensic data investigation to inform specific business and technical discussions
Convey a helpful, knowledgeable interest working alongside business and technical colleagues, at all levels. The work may be conceptual and also at column level detail reviewing lines of code and preparing test scripts.
Skills
Essential (min 8 years)
Use of PowerDesigner, or similar, to maintain the central repository of data models and mappings
Use of PowerDesigner, or similar, and other tools to create new data models from source systems and .xsd files
Advanced relational database and SQL skills for data tracing, analysis and custom reporting
.xml, .json and use of XML Spy
Ability to consume and interpret statutory and technical documents to verify data content in the agencies system
Use of test methodologies to assist and support developers
Contribute to overall solution architecture and proposal and evaluation of design and architecture options
Desirable (at least 3-5 years)
Oracle database and SQL or similar
ETL Development using Informatica, ODI or similar
Informatica MDM
HL7 FHIR
Sparx Enterprise Architect
Microsoft Azure
API design and build
UI design and build
Agile software development processes and tools
Experience
Responsibility for Master Data Management
Use of PowerDesigner, Erwin or similar, including reverse engineering, custom extensions, mappings, production of alter scripts and formal release management
End to end development experience and use of various tools to test and identify issues within the data landscape, from UI through API and cloud to on-premise databases
Coordination and communication with a diverse team so that design, build, test and remedial activity is efficient, robust and timely
Pharmaceutical industry or regulatory experience is an advantage
