Job Title: Freelance Data Modeller (Functional / Logical)
Location: Hybrid / Remote (Dutch-speaking not required)
Contract Type: Freelance / 6 months (with possible extension)
Start Date: Mid-July 2025
Client: Confidential (Financial Sector – Integratory Risk Project)

About the Role:

We are seeking a functional and logical data modeller to support a high-impact data project within a conservative, risk-oriented industry. This role focuses on enterprise data modelling, aligning closely with business needs and stakeholders, rather than technical tooling or engineering.

You’ll play a key role in defining and delivering the enterprise data model, working with data owners and stakeholders to identify, collect, and model critical data. This role sits at the intersection of business analysis, data governance, and functional data design.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Define and maintain the enterprise data model in collaboration with business and technical teams.

  • Collect and organize data from multiple sources (e.g., Source A, Source B) to build a connected, logical model.

  • Work with stakeholders to ensure timely and accurate delivery of data models.

  • Create source data specifications (SDS) and functional designs for data and reporting layers.

  • Support reporting teams by ensuring the logical consistency and usability of data models.

  • Focus on integratory risk and financial regulatory data, including preparation of datasets for the Dutch National Bank.

  • Contribute to annual analysis processes starting in September.

  • Define customer data requirements and maintain a functional-first, business-aligned approach.

  • Work independently, understanding the structure of risk management and banking environments.

Required Profile:

  • Strong experience in functional and logical data modelling (not purely technical or engineering-based).

  • Experience working in financial services, banking, or risk domains is highly preferred.

  • Ability to understand regulatory requirements and risk data structures.

  • Comfortable working in enterprise-level environments with stakeholder interaction.

  • Ability to define what data is relevant and how it should be organized.

  • Excellent communication skills; ability to collaborate across technical and non-technical teams.

  • Comfortable working independently with minimal supervision.

  • Cultural fit: open, collaborative, pragmatic, and reliable.

Nice to Have:

  • Familiarity with Dutch financial regulations or prior work with the Dutch National Bank.

  • Prior experience in integratory risk, compliance, or conservative industries.

  • Understanding of annual data analysis cycles and enterprise reporting processes.

Additional Notes:

  • Dutch language is not required.

  • This is a contract/freelance position for 6 months, with a possibility of extension.

  • Team restructuring is ongoing: you will replace an outgoing team member and work alongside other modellers.
