Enterprise Data Practice Manager

As the Enterprise Data Practice Manager, you will spearhead the development and maintenance of data and analytics practices across Neptune. Your role will empower decision-makers, data stewards, data scientists, and business analysts to leverage data-driven insights. You will oversee the management of data throughout its lifecycle, including integration, quality, governance, and security. Additionally, you will support project delivery teams in adopting and executing data management processes and implement information quality tools for enterprise-wide access.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Data Management Policies: Develop, enforce, and refine policies for effective data management across the organization.
  • Team Leadership: Lead and mentor a team of data analysts, fostering their professional growth and ensuring high performance.
  • Data Quality Assurance: Formulate and implement techniques for collecting high-quality data, ensuring its adequacy, accuracy, and legitimacy.
  • Data Handling Procedures: Create and enforce efficient and secure procedures for data handling and analysis, addressing all technical aspects.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with internal teams, including Sales, PMO, Finance, Services, Marketing, and Software Teams, to align data practices with customer expectations for products and services.
  • Customer Advisory: Act as a trusted advisor, understanding internal customers’ unique business challenges and requirements, and presenting tailored solutions that align with their strategic objectives.
  • Data Sharing Rules: Establish and manage rules and procedures for data sharing with upper management, external stakeholders, and other parties.
  • System Support: Assist with the daily use of data systems, ensuring compliance with legal and company standards, and support data extraction and reporting as needed.
  • System Monitoring and Enhancement: Monitor and analyze data systems to evaluate their performance, and recommend enhancements, including new technologies and upgrades.
  • Data Security: Ensure that digital databases and archives are protected from security breaches and data loss.
  • Problem Resolution: Troubleshoot data-related issues and authorize necessary maintenance or modifications.

Requirements:

  • Experience: 7-10+ years of experience in a data practice management role or as a Data Scientist with proven leadership experience.
  • Data Management Expertise: In-depth understanding of data administration and management functions, including collection, analysis, and distribution.
  • Technology Familiarity: Knowledge of modern database and information system technologies.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent communication and team-building skills, with strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Operational Excellence: Demonstrated passion for operational excellence, with a track record of delivering projects within scope, on time, and on budget.
  • Preferred Experience:
    • Experience with QAD and/or SAP ERP systems.
    • Familiarity with Azure or AWS Cloud platforms.
    • Power BI Certification.

Education:

  • Degree: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Certifications: Any Cloud Database Certification is a plus.

Location:

  • Tallassee, Alabama or Duluth, Georgia. Some travel between locations may be required.

Physical Requirements:

  • Sedentary work involving exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally, and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects.

Working Conditions:

  • Generally agreeable working conditions similar to those found in office environments, for more than 70% of the time.
