Interested in being the first iOS Engineer at a fast-growing startup? One of Next Ventures' clients is looking to hire an experienced iOS Engineer to build the app from scratch and be an impactful member of the small, but mighty team. The product focuses on curating an internet experience for its users: product designers, creatives, etc.

This iOS Engineer will serve more as an architect, playing a crucial role in ensuring that the iOS application is well-designed, scalable, secure, and maintains high-quality standards throughout its lifecycle. Based in the Lower East Side of Manhattan, the team is looking for someone who is eager to collaborate in person, help expand the team, and build an exciting new product in the market!

Responsibilities

• Define and design the overall architecture of the iOS application, including its components, modules, and data flow.
• Establish coding standards and best practices for the iOS development team.
• Conduct code reviews to maintain high-quality code and enforce coding standards.
• Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks in the iOS application.
• Optimize code and system architecture for efficient resource utilization.
• Ensure that the iOS app follows security best practices and guidelines.
• Address security vulnerabilities and implement encryption, authentication, and authorization mechanisms.
• Collaborate and communicate effectively with front end engineers, back end engineers, machine learning engineers, and leadership
• Create and maintain technical documentation, including architecture diagrams, code documentation, and guidelines for the development team.
• Communicate technical decisions and project progress to stakeholders, including management and clients.

Qualifications

• About 6-8 years of mobile development, especially with iOS
• Professional experience with Swift, UI Kit, MVVM, or relevant technologies
• At least 2 years of startup experience
• Previous consumer application experience (plus if it's a product or design-forward product)
• Proven examples working on an iOS app from scratch Proficient in AutoCAD and Revit

Nice to Haves

• MVVM or MVVM-C architecture experience and/or extensive experience in multiple architectures
• 0-1 experience
• large architecture experience
