Our client is a boutique SAP HCM consultancy based in Bavaria, Germany, providing specialized SAP HCM solutions to a select number of clients across various industries (excluding public sector). With an established presence and a growing project load, they are seeking experienced and passionate HCM professionals to join their tight-knit, dedicated team.

About the Role

The Senior SAP HCM German Payroll Consultant will play a key role in supporting the company’s growing client base by providing expert consulting services in German Payroll. You will have the opportunity to work closely with a small team of HCM professionals and report directly to the founder, who brings over 35 years of HCM consulting expertise.

This is a fully remote position with occasional travel to the office in Bavaria for team meetups (1-2 times per month, expenses covered). You will work directly with clients to deliver high-quality SAP HCM consulting services that focus on German Payroll. There is also a strong potential for career growth within the company.


Key Responsibilities

  • Consulting & Client Engagement:

    • Provide end-to-end consulting on SAP HCM German Payroll, including project scoping, implementation, and post-go-live support.
    • Act as a trusted advisor to clients, understanding their business requirements and translating them into SAP HCM solutions.
    • Ensure the seamless delivery of solutions by maintaining a hands-on approach throughout the project lifecycle.
  • SAP HCM System Expertise:

    • Conduct system configuration, customization, and optimization specifically in German Payroll.
    • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to payroll processes and payroll schema.
    • Provide insights and expertise on best practices and compliance with German payroll regulations.
  • Project Management & Coordination:

    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure timely and accurate project delivery.
    • Conduct client workshops, training sessions, and knowledge transfer.
    • Assist in project planning, resource allocation, and milestone tracking to achieve project objectives.
  • Time Management & Additional Expertise:

    • Apply experience in SAP Time Management to support clients with time-related configurations and solutions.
    • Identify opportunities to enhance payroll and time management processes, ensuring a comprehensive HCM experience for clients.

Essential Requirements

  • Experience:

    • Senior Position: 5+ years of hands-on consulting experience in SAP HCM German Payroll.
    • Junior Position: Strong passion for SAP HCM Consulting and foundational experience in SAP HCM German Payroll.
    • Demonstrable experience with SAP Time Management is highly valued.
  • Language Skills:

    • Fluent German (C1+), preferably native.
    • Strong English skills, enabling effective communication with international clients in France, Poland, Switzerland, and Germany.
  • Technical Skills:

    • In-depth understanding of SAP HCM German Payroll processes, configuration, and payroll schema management.
    • Knowledge of German payroll regulations and best practices.
    • Additional experience in SAP Time Management configuration and administration is a plus.
