Linux Administrator – Hybrid – Zurich

Next Ventures are looking for a Linux System Administrator for a long-term contract based in Zurich, working in a hybrid setup.

What you will be doing

Take full ownership of the Linux workstation lifecycle, from initial build through to decommissioning
Design, run, and continuously improve centralized configuration and update management for Linux devices
Strike the right balance between standardisation and developer autonomy
Define, implement, and enforce security baselines and hardening standards
Provide hands-on support for Linux device setup, tooling, and troubleshooting
Work closely with Group IT on policies, tooling, integrations, and issue resolution

What we are looking for

Degree in Software Engineering or a related technical discipline
Strong, proven experience administering Linux endpoints in a professional environment
Solid expertise with Linux endpoint management, monitoring, and fleet configuration tools
Deep knowledge of the Linux ecosystem, particularly Ubuntu and Nix
Good understanding of networking, VPNs, security, encryption, authentication, and certificate management
Clear communicator with strong self-drive and the ability to work independently
