SAP BTP Cloud Architect

Next Ventures are currently executing a high level search for a highly experienced SAP BTP Cloud Architect with strong hands-on skills in DNS-level traffic routing, configuration of multi-region architectures, and disaster recovery (DR) strategy design. You will work with technologies such as AWS Route 53, Azure Traffic Manager, and SAP BTP services to build resilient and scalable cloud solutions.

Location: Remote (EU-based candidates only)
Start Date: ASAP (Max 2 weeks' notice)
Duration: 6 Months (Extension possible)
Travel: Occasional travel to Denmark
Language: English (Fluent)

Key Responsibilities:

  • Architect and configure DNS-level traffic routing and failover using AWS Route 53 or Azure Traffic Manager

  • Design and implement multi-region setups for SAP BTP services (Cloud Foundry, Kyma, Integration Suite, etc.)

  • Define and configure load balancing, health checks, failover rules, and routing policies

  • Build and document disaster recovery strategies, ensuring integration between SAP BTP and hyperscaler-native services

  • Support setup of cross-region failover, replication, and DNS TTL optimization

  • Work closely with BASIS, infrastructure, and development teams to support high availability (HA) targets

  • Conduct DR testing and document DR/BCP procedures

  • Assist in the configuration of SAP BTP security, service bindings, subscriptions, and connectivity

Required Skills & Experience:

  • 7+ years in cloud architecture or operations roles

  • Strong configuration and implementation experience with:

    • AWS Route 53 (routing policies, failover, latency-based routing, health checks)

    • Azure Traffic Manager (priority, performance, and weighted routing)

  • Expertise in configuring SAP BTP multi-region deployment environments

  • Hands-on with SAP BTP cockpit, service plans, entitlements, subaccounts, and transport management

  • Experience with SAP HANA system replication and cloud storage for backups

  • Good command of CI/CD, service connectivity, and Cloud Foundry/Kyma configuration

  • Strong documentation and collaboration skills

Nice to Have:

  • SAP certifications (SAP BTP, SAP S/4HANA Cloud, SAP Integration Suite)

  • Experience with compliance-driven DR planning

  • Familiarity with tools such as Azure Site Recovery or AWS CloudEndure

  • Working knowledge of Terraform or similar IAC tools for infrastructure deployment
