SAP FI/CO Lead Consultant

Next Ventures are currently executing a search for an experienced SAP FI/CO Lead Consultant to drive the finance and controlling stream for a Greenfield S/4HANA implementation project within the telecommunications industry. The ideal candidate will have a strong functional understanding of finance and controlling processes, hands-on configuration expertise, and experience in managing complex SAP implementations.

Key Responsibilities:

Solution Design & Implementation:

• Lead the design and implementation of SAP FI/CO solutions tailored to the telecommunications industry.
• Conduct requirements gathering workshops and translate business needs into functional specifications.
• Configure and implement SAP Finance (FI) modules including GL, AP, AR, Asset Accounting, and Bank Accounting.
• Configure and implement SAP Controlling (CO) modules including Cost Center Accounting, Product Costing, Profitability Analysis, and Internal Orders.

• Act as the primary point of contact for the FI/CO stream, collaborating with business stakeholders and other SAP module leads.
• Manage project timelines, deliverables, and resources for the FI/CO workstream.
• Drive integration with other modules such as SD, MM, and HR.

Industry-Specific Expertise:

• Adapt SAP FI/CO functionality to meet the specific financial and regulatory requirements of the telecommunications sector.
• Design processes to manage telecom-specific scenarios like revenue recognition, leasing, and cost allocations.

Cross-Functional Collaboration:

• Ensure seamless integration with other SAP modules and third-party systems.
• Collaborate with the reporting team to design and implement financial reports and dashboards using SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC) or other reporting tools.

Testing, Training & Support:

• Develop and execute comprehensive test plans, including unit testing, integration testing, and UAT.
• Deliver end-user training and documentation for finance and controlling processes.
• Provide post-go-live support and lead hyper-care activities for the FI/CO stream.

Key Skills & Qualifications:

Technical Expertise:

• 10+ years of SAP FI/CO implementation experience, including at least 2 full lifecycle S/4HANA implementations.
• Strong knowledge of SAP FI modules: General Ledger (GL), Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), Asset Accounting (AA), and Bank Accounting (BA).
• Expertise in SAP CO modules: Cost Center Accounting (CCA), Profitability Analysis (CO-PA), Product Costing (PC), and Internal Orders.
• Hands-on experience with S/4HANA innovations such as the Universal Journal, New Asset Accounting, and Central Finance.

Industry Experience:

• Prior experience in the telecommunications industry is a must, with a deep understanding of financial processes, revenue streams, and cost structures unique to this sector.
• Familiarity with telecom-specific regulatory requirements and compliance frameworks.

Project Management & Methodologies:

• Proficient in SAP Activate methodology and agile project management approaches.
• Ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage project stakeholders effectively.

Soft Skills:

• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills for client-facing roles.
• Ability to work collaboratively and manage competing priorities in a dynamic environment.

• SAP S/4HANA Finance Certification or equivalent.
• Experience with reporting tools like SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC) or Fiori.
• Knowledge of IFRS and compliance standards specific to telecommunications.
