Location: Remote (EU/UK preferred)

Position Overview:
Next Ventures are executing a search for a skilled SAP PLM Developer with strong expertise in Document Management and WWI Report Development to support and enhance our clients SAP Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) environment. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining robust document management solutions and WWI reports that support regulated product lifecycle documentation, particularly in industries like medical devices, life sciences, or chemicals.
You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the seamless integration and performance of SAP PLM solutions and actively contribute to the continuous improvement of system functionalities.
Key Responsibilities:
Design & Development
- Design, develop, and enhance document management functionality within SAP PLM
- Create and maintain WWI (Windows Word processor Integration) report templates for product-related documents, such as safety data sheets and product specifications
- Ensure end-to-end integration with SAP modules (e.g., MM, QM, EHS, PP)
- Configure and optimize document status networks, approval workflows, and metadata handling within SAP DMS/PLM
- Develop and maintain system integrations using SAP ABAP, OO ABAP, and RESTful APIs (OData, RFC, Web Services)
- Perform unit and integration testing for WWI reports and document workflows
- Collaborate on UAT planning and execution with business stakeholders
- Provide ongoing technical support and training to end-users
- Create and maintain thorough documentation, including technical specifications, configuration guides, and user manuals
- Monitor performance and propose improvements to enhance the usability and efficiency of SAP PLM and WWI solutions
- Stay up to date with SAP S/4HANA advancements, particularly in Document Management and WWI Reporting
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
- 5+ years of experience in SAP PLM Document Management and WWI report development
- Strong hands-on experience with:
- SAP PLM
- WWI Report Generation (template creation and specification-based outputs)
- ABAP and Object-Oriented ABAP (OO ABAP)
- Good understanding of SAP Material Master processes and their linkage to documents/specifications
- Strong analytical, documentation, and communication skills
- Proven ability to work independently and within cross-functional teams
Preferred Skills:
- Expertise in:
- ABAP on HANA, SAP UI5, SAP Fiori
- SAP BRF+ (Business Rule Framework Plus)
- SAP RAP (ABAP RESTful Application Programming Model)
- Experience with:
- Full-stack development within S/4HANA
- SAP Solution Manager (SolMan) for development lifecycle management
- SAP Authorization Management
- Application performance optimization and software quality assurance
- Industry experience in regulated environments (medical devices, life sciences, chemicals, etc.) is highly desirable
