Our Fintech client is a market leader in providing data and business intelligence to help financial services professionals make faster and smarter investment decisions.

They are looking for a senior engineering leader, who can be hands-on and also take on management responsibilities, while being responsible for developing a software development center in Colombia from scratch. You will be overseeing all aspects of software development including application development (front end and back end), DevOps, QA and data engineering. You will be responsible for ensuring the delivery of quality features in a predictable, scalable and efficient manner. This role will be part of our client's technology leadership team, reporting to the CTO directly.

Experience

• Experience with hiring, mentoring, managing and growing engineering managers and technical leads.
• Experience with software development life cycle, using tools to manage software development processes such as JIRA, Confluence, GitHub etc.
• Hands-on experience designing, building and supporting customer facing enterprise applications.
• Experience with leading teams in a nearshore location while partnering with teams in other onshore locations.
• Ability to think strategically and see the big picture by understanding connectivity between various technology functions,

Responsibilities

• Build nearshore talent acquisition pipeline while integrating culture and technology standards with onshore development teams.
• Design, implement, and monitor all operations and key performance metrics/operational efficiency for the application development team.
• Participate in business and technical design reviews, and work with the product and commercial stakeholders to ensure that we are allocating engineering resources appropriately.
• Partner with technology leadership team members to ensure service reliability through rigorous testing and release procedures.
• Ensure code standards, promoting code reusability and long term scalability.
• Hire top engineering talent and build a world class engineering culture to continuously scale engineering capacity and expertise to meet growing business needs.
• Ensure compliance with security and firm-wide architecture standards.
