The Senior Network Engineer will be a proactive and detail-oriented professional responsible for managing daily network operations and maintaining infrastructure stability. This role will also contribute to evaluating and testing new hardware and services while developing comprehensive network implementation and migration strategies.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

The responsibilities of this role include, but are not limited to:

• Designing, implementing, and planning network migrations.
• Testing and supporting network hardware and services at various deployment stages.
• Configuring network devices and services.
• Recommending optimizations to enhance network performance and efficiency.
• Collaborating with internal and external technical teams on network design, development, and implementation projects.
• Creating and reviewing technical documentation.
• Performing daily system checks following established procedures.
• Logging and tracking all incidents, problems, and service requests.
• Conducting routine network maintenance, including migrations, updates, and security patching.
• Troubleshooting network issues such as outages, performance slowdowns, and unusual behavior.
• Providing detailed reports, updates, and root cause analyses.
• Offering on-call support outside regular hours as needed.
• Traveling occasionally for onsite support.

QUALIFICATIONS

The ideal candidate will hold a four-year degree in data communications, computer science, or a related field, or possess equivalent work experience. A minimum of six years of hands-on network support experience is required, preferably with Arista or Cisco networking equipment. The candidate should be a motivated self-starter with strong technical acumen, analytical thinking, and problem-solving abilities. Excellent communication skills are essential, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences. The ability to perform well under pressure is also critical.

TECHNICAL SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

Proficiency in the following areas is highly preferred:

• Arista switches and EOS
• Palo Alto Panorama and Next-Generation Firewalls (Palo Alto certifications preferred)
• Cisco IOS and NX-OS
• Advanced knowledge of routing protocols (BGP, OSPF) and Layer 2 technologies
• Network security expertise, including Palo Alto firewalls, Prisma Access, IPsec VPNs, and 802.1X authentication
• Experience with network monitoring protocols and tools (SNMP, NetFlow, sFlow)
• Familiarity with SIEM systems and network monitoring solutions
• Strong documentation skills, including proficiency with MS Visio
• Exposure to network automation using Python, Ansible, and Arista CVP
