SAP S/4HANA FI-AA (Asset Accounting) Consultant

Next Ventures are currently executing a search for a SAP FI AA SME , The consultant will be focused on helping a client design and implement asset accounting processes in an S/4HANA transformation program.

Key Responsibilities

Asset Accounting Subject Matter Expert

• Lead discussions on SAP S/4HANA Asset Accounting (FI-AA).
• Gather and analyze business requirements related to fixed assets.
• Advise stakeholders on S/4HANA best practices and new capabilities.

Blueprint & Solution Design

• Translate business requirements into technical solution designs and blueprints.
• Define future-state asset accounting processes.
• Ensure designs align with S/4HANA standard functionality wherever possible.

Cross-Functional Integration
Understand and design integrations between FI-AA and:

• EPPM (Enterprise Portfolio and Project Management)
• EAM (Enterprise Asset Management / Plant Maintenance)
• CO (Controlling)
• General Finance and Accounting processes

The consultant must understand how asset transactions flow across these workstreams and the accounting implications.

Leasing Accounting
Support:

• Requirement gathering for leasing processes
• Fit-to-Standard (F2S) workshops
• Accounting blueprint creation for leasing functionality

This likely includes S/4HANA support for standards such as:

• IFRS 16
• ASC 842 (if applicable)

Stakeholder Management

• Facilitate workshops with finance, accounting, asset management, and project teams.
• Structure requirements from multiple stakeholders.
• Explain benefits of S/4HANA innovations and influence design decisions.

Required Skills
SAP Expertise

• Deep expertise in SAP S/4HANA Asset Accounting (FI-AA)
• Strong knowledge of:
  • Asset lifecycle management
  • Asset capitalization
  • Asset under construction (AuC)
  • Depreciation areas
  • Parallel accounting
  • Asset transfers
  • Asset retirements
  • Asset acquisitions

Leasing Knowledge

• S/4HANA Lease Accounting functionality
• End-to-end leasing processes
• Accounting impacts and compliance requirements

Integration Knowledge
Experience integrating FI-AA with:

• EPPM
• EAM
• CO
• General Ledger (FI-GL)
• Accounts Payable (FI-AP)
• Project Systems

Consulting Skills

• Requirements gathering
• Workshop facilitation
• Blueprint creation
• Gap analysis
• Stakeholder management
• Process design

Senior Consultant / Lead Consultant / Solution Architect level role
Expected experience:

• 8+ years SAP Finance experience
• Multiple S/4HANA implementations
• Strong FI-AA specialization
• Leasing accounting expertise
• Ability to lead workshops independently
