About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Infrastructure Architect to lead the design and delivery of enterprise-scale infrastructure solutions across cloud, on-premises and hybrid environments.
The successful candidate will be responsible for defining infrastructure strategy, creating architecture roadmaps, ensuring scalability and security, and supporting major transformation programmes. You will work closely with business stakeholders, engineering teams, security teams and project delivery functions to design resilient, cost-effective and future-proof infrastructure solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Design end-to-end infrastructure architectures across cloud, hybrid and on-premises environments.
- Develop infrastructure roadmaps aligned to business objectives and technology strategy.
- Lead architecture design workshops and provide technical leadership across projects.
- Produce high and low-level design documentation (HLDs/LLDs).
- Define standards, governance and best practices for infrastructure services.
- Ensure solutions meet security, compliance, performance and availability requirements.
- Support cloud transformation, data centre migration and modernisation initiatives.
- Collaborate with security, network, cloud and platform teams to deliver integrated solutions.
- Review existing infrastructure and identify opportunities for optimisation and automation.
- Provide technical assurance and architectural oversight throughout project lifecycles.
Required Skills & Experience
- Proven experience as an Infrastructure Architect, Technical Architect or Solution Architect.
- Strong knowledge of enterprise infrastructure technologies.
- Experience designing solutions across:
- Windows Server
- Linux
- Active Directory / Entra ID
- Virtualisation (VMware, Hyper-V)
- Storage and Backup Solutions
- Enterprise Networking
- Security Architecture
- Strong understanding of public cloud platforms:
- Microsoft Azure
- AWS
- Google Cloud (desirable)
- Experience with hybrid cloud and migration programmes.
- Knowledge of disaster recovery, business continuity and high-availability design.
- Experience producing architecture documentation and standards.
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
Desirable Skills
- Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Ansible).
- Kubernetes and container platforms.
- DevOps methodologies and CI/CD.
- Zero Trust security principles.
- Enterprise monitoring and observability platforms.
- TOGAF, Azure Architect or AWS Architect certifications.
- Experience within regulated environments.
