AI/ML Engineer

We are seeking a AI/ML Engineer focusing on image processing. detection & classifiation to design and build advanced image-based inspection systems for product quality and defect detection. This role focuses on developing algorithms to process product images, detect defects, and train machine learning models for classification tasks.

You will work at the intersection of image processing, deep learning, and scalable environments, delivering robust and production-ready solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement image processing pipelines for product images (e.g., filtering, normalization, segmentation)
  • Design and build defect detection algorithms using classical and deep learning approaches
  • Train, validate, and optimize machine learning models for classification and anomaly detection
  • Work with frameworks such as PyTorch and TensorFlow to build and deploy models
  • Deploy and manage models within Microsoft Azure environments (Azure ML, cloud services, pipelines)
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (engineering, product, operations) to integrate solutions into production systems
  • Improve model performance, accuracy, and robustness in real-world conditions (lighting, noise, variability)
  • Maintain documentation, experiment tracking, and version control for models and datasets

Required Skills & Experience

  • Strong experience in computer vision and image processing
  • Hands-on experience with:
    • PyTorch and/or TensorFlow
    • OpenCV or similar image processing libraries
  • Solid understanding of:
    • Image classification, object detection, and segmentation
    • Deep learning (CNNs, transfer learning)
  • Experience deploying models in Microsoft Azure, including:
    • Azure Machine Learning
    • Cloud-based data pipelines and model deployment
  • Proficiency in Python and relevant ML/data libraries
  • Experience working with large image datasets and annotation tools
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in defect detection or automated visual inspection systems
  • Familiarity with MLOps practices (CI/CD for ML, monitoring, model versioning)
  • Experience with real-time or edge deployment scenarios
  • Knowledge of data augmentation and handling imbalanced datasets
  • Exposure to industrial/manufacturing environments
