DATASTAGE DEVELOPER
The ideal candidate will possess strong hands-on expertise in ETL development using IBM DataStage, combined with a solid functional understanding of Finance and regulatory reporting. The DataStage Developer will work closely with business analysts, Finance and Risk stakeholders, data management teams, and IT delivery teams to design, build, and maintain data integration flows supporting a Data Warehouse (uDWH) and the production of regulatory reports such as COREP / FINREP / LCR etc. The role requires the ability to translate functional specifications and data quality requirements into robust, traceable, and auditable ETL processes.
Key responsibilities:

  • ETL Design and Development o Develop, enhance, and maintain DataStage jobs for extraction, transformation, and loading of data into the staging area and the DWH. o Implement ETL flows based on detailed functional and technical specifications o Contribute to the integration of source data required for the production of regulatory reports including COREP, FINREP, LCR, etc. o Ensure ETL processes are reusable, maintainable, and aligned with the target data architecture.
  • Functional Analysis Support o Work closely with business analysts and Finance / Risk stakeholders to understand reporting requirements and data transformation rules. o Translate business and regulatory reporting needs into ETL logic and source-to-target transformation rules. o Contribute to the identification and understanding of master data. o Support analysis of existing data flows involving operational systems, DWH components, and regulatory reporting tools. o Help identify data issues and contribute to defining remediation requirements in source systems where anomalies are detected.
  • Data Integration and Transformation o Build ETL logic to load data from operational sources and existing DWH structures into the uDWH. o Implement transformation rules between source systems, the uDWH, and, where applicable, reporting tool staging areas. o Contribute to source-to-target mappings and ensure traceability between business requirements, transformation logic, and target structures. o Support integration of complex upstream data sets required to replace manual or semi-manual reporting preparation steps.
  • Data Quality and Controls o Implement technical and functional data quality controls within ETL jobs. o Support controls at the point of insertion into the DWH to improve data quality. o Contribute to the documentation and implementation of data validation, reconciliation, and exception handling mechanisms. o Help ensure data completeness, consistency, and traceability across ETL processes and reporting feeds.
  • Regulatory Reporting Enablement o Support the implementation of ETL processes required for regulatory reporting data feeds. o Collaborate with Finance and Risk teams to ensure ETL transformations reflect reporting logic and expected data structures. o Contribute to the feeding of reporting tools and associated validation activities where in scope. o Support reconciliation between source data, uDWH data structures, and reporting input layers.
  • Testing and Deployment Support o Contribute to the definition and execution of integration test cases for ETL developments. o Support the preparation of test data and test scenarios based on functional specifications. o Assist business users during functional testing by explaining ETL behavior and investigating defects. o Support defect analysis, root cause identification, and corrective actions during test phases. o Participate in deployment preparation and release activities in coordination with IT teams.
  • Documentation and Maintainability o Produce and maintain ETL technical documentation, including job designs, transformation logic, dependencies, and operational instructions. o Contribute to source-to-target mappings, technical specifications, and data flow documentation. o Document implemented controls, known limitations, and processing assumptions. o Ensure developments comply with documentation and traceability expectations for auditability and future maintenance.
  • Stakeholder Engagement o Collaborate with Data Management, IT development teams, business analysts, and Finance / Risk stakeholders. o Participate in workshops related to specifications, transformation rules, testing, and issue resolution. o Communicate clearly with both technical and functional stakeholders on development progress, issues, and dependencies. o Contribute to weekly follow-up on progress.
