Description of the job: Onsite commissioning and support/troubleshooting of a redundant network serving a site-wide electrical control system based on an existing design. Remote support will be provided throughout.
Work duration: 12  days + additional 3 days of travelling and medical. Please allow for a contingency of 4 days additional work.
Location: Oman oil field - transport from Muscat to oil field assured using plane
Dates: Mid-September or as early as possible.
 
Original requirements for the job:
Experience level / skill set:
- Strong understanding of industrial Ethernet networks with hands-on experience
- Experience with installing and commissioning Hirschmann network switches
- Experience with performing firmware updates, configuration management
- Experience with troubleshooting redundancy configurations, with remote support
- General experience with optical fibre installations and troubleshooting industrial networks
- Preferably experience with IEDs/protection relays and networks serving electrical controls systems (preferred but not compulsory.)
- Ability to work in desert environment (note that the majority of the work will be done in substations)
- Ability to interpret network diagrams
- Good English level required
Certifications: Not required (CCNA/P or equivalent — preferred but not compulsory)
