Role Overview

Contract: 12 months (option to go permanent)
Language: Dutch-speaking only — must be able to interview in Dutch
Location: 1 day per week in Amstelveen 

Ideal Candidate Profile

Core Experience

• 5+ years as a Product Owner or Product Manager on complex, engineering‑led platforms.

• Background in private cloud, platform engineering, infrastructure, or regulated environments (finance, government, healthcare, defence).

• Proven ability to manage technical roadmaps, collaborate with architects, and make engineering‑grounded trade‑off decisions.

Sovereign & Compliance Expertise

• Strong understanding of data sovereignty, data residency, access control, auditability, and compliance‑by‑design.

• Experience in enterprise or regulated IT environments with governance, audit, and risk frameworks.

• Familiarity with security controls, IAM, and regulatory constraints influencing cloud design.

Technical Literacy

• Solid grasp of private cloud technologies: virtualization, Kubernetes, container platforms, networking, storage, monitoring.

• Able to understand architectural decisions, challenge assumptions, and translate business/regulatory needs into feasible technical solutions.

• Comfortable acting as the bridge between engineering, compliance, and business.

Delivery & Execution Strength

• Owns and prioritises the product backlog with clarity and structure.

• Skilled in writing/refining epics, features, and user stories with technical depth.

• Strong in sprint planning, refinement, and release planning.

• Able to balance business value, technical dependencies, and team capacity.

Stakeholder & Team Leadership

• Excellent communicator who can advocate for technical decisions to non‑technical stakeholders.

• Pragmatic, structured, and delivery‑focused.

• Able to staff and shape development teams with the right skill mix.

• Works closely with Product Manager, Architects, Developers, and Scrum Master.

Personal Attributes

• Fluent in English and Dutch or French.

• Willing to travel within the Benelux.

• Calm under pressure, structured thinker, able to balance strategy with hands‑on execution.
