• Location: Malmö area, Sweden Working model: Hybrid, with a few days per week onsite

About the Role

The client is looking for an experienced SAP ABAP Developer to join the Backend Development department within Business IT (BDT).
The team is responsible for the development, support, and maintenance of the client's SAP S/4HANA Utilities environment, with ABAP as the primary development language.
The successful consultant will work closely with business stakeholders, solution architects, and development teams to design, develop, test, document, and support SAP solutions.
The role requires someone who can take ownership of development assignments and deliver robust, well-documented solutions in a collaborative environment.

Key Responsibilities

As an SAP ABAP Developer, your primary responsibility will be to deliver the designed technical solution.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Developing SAP solutions using ABAP
• Translating functional and technical requirements into robust SAP developments
• Performing unit and technical testing of developed solutions
• Troubleshooting and resolving development-related issues
• Documenting technical solutions and development activities
• Communicating with business users and providing support prior to User Acceptance Testing (UAT)
• Working continuously with Solution Architects to ensure alignment with the overall solution design
• Supporting existing SAP applications and resolving defects
• Contributing to maintenance and continuous improvement of the SAP S/4HANA Utilities environment
• Collaborating with other developers, functional consultants, architects, and business stakeholders
• Participating in development activities within an agile/DevOps-oriented environment

• Device Management
• Energy Data Management
• Intercompany Data Exchange
• Customer Engagement
• Contract Billing
• Contract Accounts Receivable and Payable
• Master Data
• Sales and Distribution (SD)
• Materials Management (MM)
• Investment Management
• Plant Maintenance (PM)
• SAP Fiori

Experience across multiple functional areas will be considered a strong advantage.

Essential Skills & Experience
The successful candidate should have:

• Demonstrable professional experience as an SAP ABAP Developer
• Strong hands-on ABAP development experience
• Experience working within SAP S/4HANA, ideally in a Utilities environment
• Experience delivering solutions through the full development lifecycle
• Ability to understand technical requirements and translate them into effective solutions
• Experience with testing and documenting SAP developments
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work independently and take initiative
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
• Ability to collaborate effectively within multidisciplinary teams
• A structured and thorough approach to development and documentation
• Experience working across several of the SAP functional areas listed above

Desirable Experience

• Experience within the energy/utilities industry
• Previous experience working in structured SAP development teams
• Experience with DevOps
• Experience working in Agile development environments
• Experience with SAP Fiori
