SAP EWM Functional Consultant / Architect

Next Ventures are currently executing a search for an experienced SAP Extended Warehouse Management (EWM) Functional Consultant / Architect to design and deliver scalable, high-performance warehouse solutions within a complex automotive manufacturing and supply chain landscape.

This role blends deep functional expertise with architectural oversight, ensuring EWM solutions are robust, integrated, and future-ready across plant, distribution, and aftermarket environments.

Key Responsibilities:

Solution Architecture

• Lead end-to-end SAP EWM solution design aligned with automotive manufacturing and distribution processes
• Define system architecture for decentralized and embedded EWM landscapes
• Design integration with SAP S/4HANA, MM, SD, PP, QM, and TM
• Provide blueprint documentation and functional specifications

Functional Expertise

• Configure and implement:
  • Inbound, outbound, and internal warehouse processes
  • Yard Management
  • Production Supply (line feeding, Kanban, JIT/JIS)
  • Cross-docking and value-added services
  • RF framework and MFS (Material Flow System)
• Design handling unit management and complex packaging structures
• Support automation integration (conveyors, ASRS, robotics)

Automotive-Specific Experience

• Implement solutions for:
  • Just-in-Time (JIT) / Just-in-Sequence (JIS) processes
  • Sequencing centers
  • Vendor Managed Inventory (VMI)
  • Batch/serial number tracking
  • Returnable packaging management
• Ensure traceability and compliance with automotive quality standards

 Integration & Data

• Integrate with MES, legacy WMS, and third-party logistics providers
• Lead interface design (IDocs, APIs, middleware)
• Oversee master data design and governance

 Leadership & Governance

• Act as EWM solution owner / stream lead
• Mentor functional consultants and junior team members
• Drive workshops with business stakeholders
• Support testing, go-live, and hypercare
• Contribute to global template and rollout strategy

Required Skills & Qualifications

• 8+ years SAP experience with 4+ years in SAP EWM
• Minimum 2–3 full lifecycle EWM implementations
• Strong experience in S/4HANA embedded EWM
• Deep understanding of automotive warehouse operations
• Knowledge of decentralized vs. embedded EWM architecture
• Experience in automation integration preferred
• Strong documentation and stakeholder communication skills

Nice to Have

• SAP EWM Certification
• Experience with SAP TM integration
• Exposure to global rollouts
• Familiarity with SAP Activate methodology
