SAP PLM Functional Lead for Packaging Development
Next Ventures are currently executing a search for an experienced SAP PLM Functional Lead for Packaging Development (SAP PLM)
Our clients are seeking an experienced Functional Lead for Packaging Development to drive the design and integration of SAP PLM capabilities supporting global packaging development across packaging, labelling, and artwork management for consumer products and medical devices.
This pivotal role will ensure collaboration, seamless data flow, process harmonization, and compliance across product lifecycle management, procurement, and master data governance for packaging, labelling, and artwork.
Location -Germany ,Remote from anywhere in Europe (applicants must be able to work in Europe and hold Eu or UK Passport) or Blue card for Germany.

Key Responsibilities
- Define and maintain functionality to support packaging development and product changes across SAP PLM, MDG, MM, label printing, artwork management, and label management for a mixed consumer products and medical portfolio.
- Develop and maintain the end-to-end data model across SAP PLM, MM, MDG, and integrated enterprise applications such as PIM, ESKO WebCenter, MIS (Plain), Label Printing Systems for MES, and EUDAMED.
- Lead cross-functional workshops to gather requirements and translate them into scalable, integrated SAP PLM and packaging solutions.
- Coordinate closely with stream peers in MDG, P2P, and L2C to ensure alignment across deployment areas.
- Provide guidance to development teams, ensuring adherence to SAP PLM best practices and robust integration testing for third-party applications (e.g., PIM, MES).
- Align solution designs with enterprise architecture standards and compliance requirements.
- Evaluate emerging SAP technologies and recommend adoption strategies to enhance packaging development processes.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
- 10+ years of SAP architecture experience, with deep expertise in PLM, MM, and MDG.
- Proven track record in regulated industries, particularly medical devices and consumer goods.
- Strong knowledge of product lifecycle management, procurement processes, and master data governance.
- Hands-on experience with SAP S/4HANA, Fiori/UI5, and integration technologies (ALE, IDoc, BAPI).
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and leadership skills.
- Fluent in English (additional languages a plus).
Preferred Qualifications
- SAP PLM certification.
- Experience with SAP AVC and its integration with PLM.
- Knowledge of artwork management tools such as ESKO WebCenter and Adobe.
- Familiarity with Agile and DevOps methodologies.
- Experience with cloud-based SAP solutions and third-party integrations (ESKO WebCenter, EUDAMED, CRM, PIM, LIMS).
