Overview
A major French financial and accounting group is seeking an SAP S/4HANA Project Manager to support a large-scale migration from ECC to S/4HANA Public Cloud. The organisation comprises approximately 200 company codes across French and international entities. The programme has been active for two years, with two sites deployed out of sixty-six. A replacement is required urgently as the current project manager is exiting the programme.
This is a pivotal position working directly with the Project Director, who reports into the CEO. The successful candidate will lead deployment activities, oversee site rollouts, and support business stakeholders in adopting S/4HANA.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage S/4HANA deployment activities across multiple sites as part of an ongoing multi-year transformation programme.
• Work closely with the Project Director (reporting to CFO), acting as their primary support and shadow on programme leadership duties.
• Engage with senior executives, accounting departments, and finance teams to ensure alignment with business processes and requirements.
• Guide end users through S/4HANA adoption, providing coaching, structure, and clarity during business change.
• Coordinate with technical and functional teams to ensure high-quality project delivery.
• Represent the project in meetings with stakeholders across accounting, finance, and legal business units.
• Ensure timelines, deliverables, and dependencies are managed effectively across multiple locations.
• Act with diplomacy, tact, and strong interpersonal skills within a complex, multi-entity environment.
• Collaborate with a small integrator and internal experts to ensure successful migration from ECC.
• Support governance, reporting, and escalation processes.
• Contribute to resolving issues related to scope, delivery, adoption, and cross-functional collaboration.

Required Skills & Experience

• Deep and demonstrable expertise in SAP S/4HANA, ideally with end-to-end deployment leadership experience.
• Strong knowledge of S/4HANA Public Cloud, with particular understanding of FICO.
• Proven experience managing large-scale SAP transformation or migration programmes.
• Ability to communicate effectively with accounting experts and speak the business language of finance.
• Strong soft skills: diplomacy, stakeholder management, and ability to influence at senior levels.
• Experience supporting user adoption and working directly with end users.
• Comfortable operating within a complex, multi-entity corporate structure.
• French fluency is essential; English is not required.
• Ability to travel regularly to Lyon and Angers, and occasionally to Paris HQ.
