Our client, a boutique Digital Strategy & Transformation advisory firm, is strengthening its leadership team in Germany. We are seeking an experienced Senior Manager with a strong background in management consulting, Product Lifecycle Management (PLM), and digital transformation within complex engineering-driven industries.

Operating at the intersection of business strategy, product development, and digital enablement, this firm partners with leading industrial organisations across Europe to deliver high-impact advisory and transformation programmes.


About the Role

As a Senior Manager, you will take a leadership role in advising clients’ top management on strategic PLM and digital transformation initiatives, driving operational excellence across the entire product lifecycle. You will lead consulting teams, own key client relationships, and shape strategic roadmaps that influence engineering performance, R&D productivity, and digital capability building.

You will act as a trusted advisor to C-level stakeholders and operational leaders, bridging the gap between strategy and execution. Your work will focus on:

  • PLM Strategy & Operating Model Design – Shaping future PLM strategies, target operating models, and transformation roadmaps for leading industrial clients.

  • Digital Transformation Enablement – Advising on digital thread, BOM structuring, configuration & variant management, document governance, and change/release management.

  • Engineering Performance Excellence – Driving cross-functional improvements across product development, production planning, and supply chain integration.

  • Programme Leadership – Leading teams through diagnostic phases, workshops, process modelling, and implementation planning.

You will collaborate with experienced consultants in a high-performing environment, contributing to both project delivery and practice development.


What We’re Looking For

We are seeking a strategic, delivery-focused leader with a blend of consulting expertise and engineering domain knowledge:

  • University degree in mechanical, electrical, aerospace, or industrial engineering (or similar).

  • 5–8+ years of relevant experience in management consulting, strategy advisory, or transformation programmes within engineering or industrial sectors.

  • Proven track record in PLM, product development strategy, or digital transformation engagements.

  • Strong understanding of eBOM vs. mBOM, variant configuration, change management, and document traceability.

  • Familiarity with major PLM systems (e.g. PTC Windchill, Siemens Teamcenter, Dassault ENOVIA / 3DEXPERIENCE, SAP PLM, Aras Innovator) and their role within enterprise architectures.

  • Excellent stakeholder management skills, with the ability to engage both technical teams and senior executives.

  • Fluent English is required; German (B2+) strongly preferred.

  • Willingness to travel (~2 days/week) for client engagements across Germany and Europe.

  • Requirements Engineering / Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE)

  • SAP–PLM integration or related enterprise integration expertise

  • Product Configuration Management

  • CAD/CAE process integration

  • Systems Thinking (V-Model)
