Hi, 
 

I'm looking for a senior engineer with deep, hands-on Yocto expertise to take technical ownership of a production Embedded Linux platform.

This position requires extensive practical experience managing Yocto environments—not simply general Embedded Linux experience with some exposure to Yocto.

Key responsibilities:

• Maintain and improve existing Yocto builds
• Lead upgrades and migrations between Yocto versions
• Develop and maintain recipes, layers and BitBake configurations
• Maintain SDKs and toolchains
• Prepare, package and support software releases
• Manage CVEs and security patches for open-source components
• Design update mechanisms, including partial and security updates
• Troubleshoot complex build, dependency and integration issues
• Support the platform’s long-term architecture and stability

Required expertise:

✅ Strong production experience with Yocto and BitBake
✅ Proven ownership of Yocto-based platforms
✅ Yocto version upgrade and migration experience
✅ Recipes, layers, SDKs and toolchain maintenance
✅ CVE management and security patching
✅ Strong Embedded Linux engineering background
✅ C, C++, Python and Shell scripting

Nice to have:

• GitHub Actions and CI/CD
• Embedded software update mechanisms
• Rust

I'm particularly interested in senior engineers who can independently drive Yocto upgrades, platform maintenance, security patching and continuous improvements.

Contract: Freelance 
Eligibility: EU citizens (No remote outside from Europe)
Start date: ASAP 
Duration: 6 months + extension 
Conditions : Full remote 
Rate: 35€ - 45€ per hour
