Role:

Our fintech client is a market leader in providing data and business intelligence to help financial services professionals make faster and smarter investment decisions. They are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Data/Python Engineer to play a pivotal role in architecting and implementing robust data solutions to support the company's evolving needs.

Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and develop scalable and efficient data solutions, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
• Data pipeline optimization: continuously enhance and optimize data pipelines to maximize performance and reliability, utilizing expertise in Python and associated libraries.
• Work closely with data scientists, analysts, and other engineers to understand data requirements and implement solutions that facilitate data-driven decision making.
• Develop monitoring and alert systems to proactively identify and resolve data related issues.
• Constantly evaluate and explore emerging technologies and tools.
• Mentor and guide junior data engineers by sharing knowledge, setting high standards and promoting best practices.

Requirements:

• Extensive experience in Python development
• Strong understanding of data modeling principles and the ability to translate complex business requirements into efficient data structures
• Hands-on experience with various data storage and processing technologies, such as relational databases, NoSQL databases, and distributed computing frameworks.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure and/or GCP)
• Knowledge of relational databases (PostgreSQL and or MySQL) and experience with columnar storage technologies (Redshift, Snowflake)
• Proven ability to analyze complex problems and propose innovative solutions, demonstrating a data-driven approach
• Excellent collaboration and communication skills, enabling effective teamwork with cross-functional teams.
• Experience with data processing frameworks like Apache Spark or Apache Beam is a plus
• Experience with ETL/ELT frameworks and tools like AWS Glue, Airflow, Airbyte, dbt, etc. is a plus
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Systems or related field
